Mail Order Before Amazon

This was at Montgomery Ward  in the catalog department in Dodge City, KS, about 1955. I got hired right out of college to be the "department head."

That's when I had a waist.

    We used to order from Montgomery Ward's and J.C.Penney's catalogs. Oh the fun we would have for hours circling what we wanted in the Christmas catalog. I think that was as much fun as Christmas morning. Of course, we were poor, so we rarely if ever, actually received anything we had circled, but it was lots of fun to dream.
    And you were one of the lovely angels that helped us dream. :-)

      I did the same thing - looking at the catalog and wishing! Someone used to call the catalog "The wish book."
