Neighborhood Grocers #5

This former neighborhood grocery was in the 1000 block of North Poplar. R. tells me that it seemed a long way from West 14th but when you are a child, any distance more than a block is a long way!

I believe this one is now available to rent for garage sales. I am surprised that these small businesses were able to survive with so many in such a small area. There were doubtless many more in town that I don't know about because they were not near my neighborhood. We still have numerous Quik Shops but the atmosphere is not the same.
