Old Switchboard at Hospital

Also, an old PBX operator who still sports the same hair do forty-two years later.
 
PBX stands for Public Branch Exchange. Plugs and cords and lights and buzzers. Ah, those
were the days when "operators" were needed.

  2. Yes, that was the "ambulance" phone. Before 911, we answered calls for Reno County Ambulance service. Scared the new hires - very primitive!

    1. We wore a headset for the board calls. The shoulder rest was so we could have hands free to write.
