Back in Kansas, these are pictures of the court house at Cottonwood Falls.That was the town where L. had his first job out of the navy - with the railroad as a telegrapher. He rode to work every day with an old gentleman (he was probably at least 50) named Whipky who according to L. was a terrible driver.
As soon as his application came through for the FAA, the railroad lost a telegrapher and a new air traffic controller was created.
I love photo posts with a little bit of history in them. Very nice! That is an amazing stairway in the second photo!
