Here is a summer scene with a dress with many "tucks." No date on the photo, but I would expect before the 1920's when skirts rose to the knees.

This is my mother's older sister, Iva. She moved to California during the 1920's. Whenever I saw her, she was always dressed fashionably. This particular photo was even before my time. I love the bag!

Full View of Car

I found another photo of the car that was posted on another day.  My dad had a car similar to this and he said it was an Overland. I can't tell if this is similar - all those old cars look alike.
Then we entered a time in the 1920's and '30's when the styles were distinctive and each company had a "look" that could be recognized as Pontiac, Buick, Ford, Chrysler, Plymouth, Willys, Essex and lots of European models.
Sadly, we are back to cars that can be called "jelly beans" because they all look alike.

4th grade 1940 Roosevelt School Hutchinson KS

This is a class! Why they divided the photo by boys and girls

is probably because the group was too big for one shot.

I don't believe they have classes this large today.

Fourth grade Lebo KS

Do these children look like they are about eight? The date on the picture might be in error since it  was written "1943." That would have made the boy in the back row, second from the right thirteen years old! My guess is it was 1940. Click to embiggen (word stolen from Mr. Patrick Tillett.)

Back to school - 1912 grade school Halstead KS

My mom is third from the right in the back row, almost hidden by the boy in white. She would have been eight years old, so is that about third or fourth grade?
The frowning boy on the front row has a very interesting shirt. And second from right on the front row, a boy appears to be feeling if his new tooth has appeared yet.
