Tres Amigas
This was about 1954. I went back to KSTC of Emporia to finish my last year and stayed with my in-laws. That's my mother-in-law and sister-in-law with me. We really did get along and liked each other. I am showing off the size of my sponge soled house slippers.

Sixty-two Years Ago Today
Would you go on a blind date with one of these guys? I did with the taller one.
He's still in the other room fixing coffee.

Rippling Siding
We have wind today.
Since this end of the motel has horizontal boards, it is hard to see that they are bulging.
A video would have been better but this was taken by the passenger while I was driving.
I would take bets on when the first board comes loose and flies away in the 43 mph gusts.
Wind advisory till 7:00 p.m. with possible gusts to 50.
Land of the South Wind sounds about right for our state name.
(If you click to enlarge, the bulges show up.)

Waiting for Tickets
Many years ago people camped out near the sports arena, waiting for tickets for the
National Junior College Basketball Tournament
to go on sale.
For some it was fun but this looks like a chilly day with cloudy skies, fires going, and tents
pitched for spending the night.
The method for getting tickets was finally changed.
Sad to say, the tickets aren't as popular these days.

Imitation Thunder Coats
They may need these tomorrow. The forecast says storms - thunder and more.
These were made from old sweat shirts after seeing the ads on tv for Thunder Coats to calm your dog.
