Batteries

Too bad these batteries don't fit the cell phone. Too bad because apparently the company who supplies my phone and the service, does not sell batteries in their store. What the ???? They referred me to a store in the mall or order online.
The explanation was that if they ordered in a supply, they might not sell them for an extended period and this type of battery would not hold a charge.
How about ordering just one for me? Nope, they don't do that either. Very strange customer service.
Maybe they just figure that when the battery finally fails, you will be in the market for a new phone. He didn't mention that option, however.
I'm not blaming the employee. He was helpful and did sell us a "refurbished" battery that is guaranteed for thirty days.
I guess we'll be searching Radio Shack or checking Wichita stores.

Ceiling Zero?

The weather observer here tells me this is W 1 X 1/8 F. This means "Indefinite ceiling 100, sky obscured, visibility 1/8 mile, fog."
In other words, conditions are IFR for planes and drive very carefully for automobiles.

The forecast for today was sixty-four. It's now forty-three. The sixty-four has been pushed back to Tuesday.
We'll see!

Saturday

Another cold day. Forecast was for warmer but that didn't happen. Tomorrow? Sixty-one. I don't think so! Possible thunderstorms are included changing to snow tomorrow night.
We do have a variety.

Mennonite Supper

This dinner was advertised as Liverwurst and Mush. While standing in line, we heard from the nice gentlemen accepting donations that there is no liver in the liverwurst. L. said they would have had a larger crowd if they had said that in the ad! However, I don't know what they would have done with more people. Folks were lined up around the huge meeting room waiting to get a tray. The money goes to an endowment fund for Mennonite Manor to support those in their home who no longer have the funds to pay for their care.
It was very tasty!

Crackerfuls

There is a new Ritz cracker. Very tasty. Individually wrapped. How lazy do we have to be to let the Ritz people put the cheese on our crackers?
I guess this has been going on for a long time. Peanut butter on crackers; oreos have frosting. . . these both come "ready made."

On the wrapper under the words, Garlic Herb, is the following statement: Natural flavor with other natural flavors. What does that mean?

BTW, they are good!

Birds

We have had many visitors who look like this little guy. We think he's a junco - a name that neither L. nor I had heard of before we saw a picture in the Hutch News that looked just like this one.

President's Day

After a lovely 72 degrees yesterday, we have 19 this morning with a strong north wind blowing the flag out straight.
Yesterday L. worked in the yard, cleaning up leaves and trimming stuff. I walked around and watched.
This morning was a kaffeeklatch with three friends. A great way to start the week!

We're all waiting for more days in the 70 range.
