Beer Sampler

This picture is from a trip to Oregon in 1998. The wonderful breweries there let you sample (for a price) their different flavors. We were all sipping!

If there is a recession, it was not evident in our town! I cannot imagine the money that was spent here.

Aren't these floors beautiful?

What an improvement over carpeted floors. I wish I had them in my home.

Someone finally decided that carpeting was not an easy thing to clean in a hospital setting and I hope these are made from bamboo or some other easily replaceable product. 

I'm pretty sure they are not wood, but a nice representation of it.

South East View

This is looking south east from the front of Promise Regional Medical Center (formerly known as Hutchinsnon Hospital.) In the background is a wheat elevator which is known locally as a Mile Long. I have never personally measured it, but it is impressive.

You can tell there was a strong south west wind along with the 105 temperature. Very toasty.

Problem Solved?

Or just an intermittant buzz in the backyard?

Wires

As I was taking a photo of the sun the other morning (it was very orange, like a sunset), I noticed all the wires that serve our neighborhood. We appreciate them and love the things they allow us to do - cook, have cool or warm air as needed, see at night, use the internet, watch tv and have a landline telephone.

It's too bad they are so ugly. In some upscale areas all these connections are underground. No outages from ice or wind. I suppose it has to be done when an addition is being built. On the other hand, how would you find a buried outage?
