L. was looking for a patch of stickers in our back yard. The dogs keep coming in with those prickly things in their hair/fur.So far, no plants have been found that are producing the sand burrs but since the dogs are never out of our yard, they have to be somewhere.
As he was looking, he saw these seed pods on the trumpet vine. We had never noticed them before. I think it's interesting how they form from the flower itself.
Some ants seem to be enjoying the site.
Perhaps the burrs are growing in the little darlings' fur?
