A Ring

I am always surprised how lovely things were
made for simple uses. This is a napkin ring for my dad to use when he was a young boy. He was born in 1898. There are no chips on it. I remember my mom telling to take care of my things. Plastic was just coming into use when I was a kid - at least it was new to me! Celluloid was the big thing and I think it was flammable!

  1. What a treasure to have the napkin ring that was used by your father! I love its shape and intricate design! Hang on to that one for sure!

  2. That is such a beautiful napkin ring. Your father was born the same year as my grandmother. I loved seeing the beautiful things that she had from her childhood. It was really a different era.
