A Little Break in the Heat

We had a few sprinkles. The main storm missed us and hit Wichita leaving trees and electrical lines down! But the cool air made it this far. What a nice feeling in the mornings to have 76 degrees for running errands.

Our errands are so boring - dog food, bird seed and groceries for us. Our microwave died. Our older son asked, "How can you cook?" I told him I'm learning. The big debate is whether to buy a counter top or an over the stove model. L. says you can't sell a house with a broken microwave. Who is planning on selling?

It is a pain to reheat coffee in a saucepan on the stove. We make a several cup pot in the morning and drink some later. Our younger son and family sent us one of those single cup producers. I had been looking at them for a long time but never made up my mind to buy one. I was excited. Read the instructions (as my mother taught me to do) and followed them. The coffee dripped out one drip at a time. We tried three times, using three pods of the forty pods included. Sadly only drips that made about one fourth cup of very strong brew. So it was packed up and made ready to send back.

Then I got a call. "Did you put the coffee back in the box for return?"  "Yes." "Could you take it back out? They will not accept it back since it's edible!"  "Ok."  Luckily we had plenty of tape for the rewrap!

So we're still using the big pot and reheating on the stove. Life goes on.
